Entries are now being taken for the university and university women's singles ladders. They're free, and you can play as many or as few matches as you like.

Entries received before the start of the season will be seeded according to previous performance and experience. Later entries will be added to the bottom of the ladder, so it's best to get in now.

If you'd like to be added or have any questions please post below or email us. Women may compete in either or both, so let us know.

Selective memory Rob? I beat you 10-2 . Seriously, since you removed yourself, I'm going to be generous and put you on row three . A player of your quality should have no problem climbing to the top from there. Cheers for letting us know about Mads.

Since the usual suspects have now confirmed their participation and the ladder seedings are based mostly on last year's finishing positions, I can confirm that at the top we'll have:

Top row: Me
Second row: Graham Sills, Paul Thomas
Third row: Rob Allen, ?, ?

So if any of those players want to start playing ladder challenges now, they can do. Everyone else is welcome to play friendlies.

The ladder will be officially up on monday 13th, after the novices' tournament.

Yep, I'm keen for some ladder matches.

Good work with the ladder Rob. Is there a way to colour squares differently for people involved in challenges? People could mark the date of the challenge, so others know when people are going to be free.

As some people might have noticed, the main ladder is now active. Feel free to start making and playing challenges.

I've added everyone who was at the novices' tournament, I thought it was easier to do it that way than to wait for confirmations from everyone. If you'd like to be removed just let me know.

Seedings have been done on the basis of previous positions, uni experience and performance at the novices' tournament. Some people may find they have moved up from last year but no one has dropped down.

I'll put the women's ladder up later tonight.

Ta. There's no way yet but it wouldn't be too difficult to add to the current system so I'll look into it when I've finished the college league pages.
